I had some time to kill on Thursday afternoon so took a walk from Snuff Mills towards Vassels Park. I bumped into a twitcher who told me there was a Kingfisher about.

Although I only saw of flash of turquoise, I did see it albeit briefly.

I also saw a Tree Creeper briefly, but didn't get any photo.

However, I was a little surprised to see a Little Egret in a tree alongside the river near Vassels.

I'm assuming this is partly due to climate change, as I believe they normally prefer warmer climates. However I understand they have been spotted in parts of the UK for quite some time.

Certainly surprising to see a Little Egret down there. And the elusive Kingfisher!! I've never managed to see one so I haven't even been able to get a terrible shot of one 🙂. I would be quite happy to get a Kingfisher one day. Meanwhile nice shots of the Little Egret.
